The Viruthodai Housing Scheme is a community development project in Sri Lanka implemented through a partnership between Sharjah Charity International and Human Care Foundation. The project includes building 30 houses for widows, a mosque for up to 200 worshippers, a small school, a health center, and a vocational tailoring training facility. It also provides essential infrastructure such as a well with water storage, internal roads, a children’s garden, solar panels for the houses, and a main entrance with a boundary wall, aiming to create a sustainable and supportive village community within an 18-month timeframe.
